Are STEM jobs just the new assembly line job of the 21st century?
From the outside they seem cool. I can be an aerospace engineer and land rockets on mars! I can be a coder and develop self driving cars with AI and ML !!!
In reality, it seems like most STEM jobs are soul crushing and we are being fed the same propaganda as 50 years ago "just get a good job on the assembly line out of high school". "Just get a good job in tech, we need to glut the market so that we can drive wages down"
Studying STEM in college is obviously based.
Thoughts ?
