Wondering how I would go about this. With simple hydrolysis we get 4-aminophenol, so we are half way there and need to replace OH group with NH2.

It looks like you could use Tin and hydrochloric acid or zinc and acetic acid to go from a NO group to NH2

Would sulfuric acid and nitric acid replace the OH group to an NO group? Like it does with a H group on a benzene ring?

I don’t need to end up at exactly ppd, any diamine derivative should in theory do
