In human taxomomy, we say race instead subspecies. Why?

If you mean to say "why don't we use subspecies instead of races to differentiate between people" then that's because we all fall into the same subspecies and subspecies is the smallest taxonomic rank. It's similar to how huskies and sharpies look different but are still both of the canis lupus familiaris subspecies (canis lupus being wolves).

However, if your question is etymological in nature (i.e. "why do we use the word race instead of subspecies" then what >>12208943
said.

Because those terms are created by humans and thus we are more sensitive to what terms we use. Similar to why neanderthals are considered seperate species and not just a "race" even though we could fully interbreed

On what grounds? Our genetic diversity is similar to that of canis lupus and other wide-ranging large mammals, which all are separated into local subspecies in accordance to their phenotype, often with arbitrary geographical borders.

On the grounds of Homo sapiens being taxonomically categorized as a species (I misspoke when I said subspecies) of the homo (lmao) genus. While the presence of homo sapien subspecies is still debated, none of the debated suspecies refer to the different races encountered in modern times. I'm not invested enough to go full /sci/ schizo and make my own outlandish claims; I was just trying to answer OP's question based on current science.

This graph is misleading because those clusters are so close together when compared to other species they would all appear as a single pixel. You have to really try hard and be super careful in order to separate humans into groups at all.

Yes it is, it was also invented >200 years ago and is full of mistakes and limitations. It's not reliable for anything other than a superficial observation especially when other methods are avaliable.
