You all clearly dont understand the diagram. Only muscle cells will have their dna changed thus it wont be passed on to your kids. And the spike production is only triggered when you get vaccinated, so you wont be constanly be producing them.

you idiot, the mRNA doesn't get incorporated into your cellular DNA because there's no reverse transcriptase to catalyze that reaction. the mRNA is taken up by cells so that they temporarily produce the protein until the mRNA is degraded by standard turnover pathways. Still, it seems unnecessary to do this when you could just inject the antigen itself.

The spikes on the virus bind to proteins on your cell that allow it to enter the cell, replicate etc. (think of it like a lock&key). Normally, the virus makes copies of itself inside the cell so that it can repeat the cycle with other cells. In this case, the only part of the virus that is produced is the spike. As your body produces an immune response to this (i.e. the entire point of the vaccine), these spike-displaying cells are destroyed in the process. Because no more mRNA is produced, there's a hard cap on the number of cells that are affected.

said is half true because only retroviruses (e.g. HIV) incorporate themselves into your DNA but the injected mRNA will be degraded after use without being copied.

It's easier to obtain the mRNA than it is to get the spike proteins. If you wanted the spike proteins you'd have to acquire it in large enough yields and since the mRNA would be required to produce the protein anyway its easier to just say "fuck it lets just inject the mRNA and let the body worry about producing the spikes".

Also, displaying the antigens on a cell is (probably) more efficacious than just throwing them in where they would be cleared away as detritus.

which makes no sense because it would imply that, we would have to artifically synthesize the antigens and inject them instead of letting the body do the work.

Because that's a different method of vaccination. I guess I misspoke when I said that the mRNA method is easier; Although its a better method, it remains a novel approach to vaccination than what he suggests (subunit-based vaccine). That's just technology developing; The polio vaccine used inactivated whole viruses and it was only ~35 years ago.

Not even close, engineering a cell line to shit out vast quantities of room temperature stable conjugates or VLPs is trivial compared to getting large quantities of mRNA which falls apart if you even look at it the wrong way.
