I'm looking to understand general relativity. As a mathematician who already knows a fair bit of Riemannian geometry but lacks any physical intuition, should I read Carroll's Spacetime and Geometry or Wald's General Relativity?

Yes, that grid there is space, but it still doesn't says if space per time is still equal or whatever, atleast the popsci talk about it, and even in real, they deny ether because of bullshit disproval experiment, look into ether physics, and you'll understand nature of light.

That's the thing, I'm a starter when it comes to physics, but in no means am I a starter in maths. I need something that both explains the derivations and intuition in detail and is not afraid to use geometry. Carroll is probably too introductory in terms of maths, but it will probably contain a lot of intuitive explanations.

This is tied the worst suggestion I've ever seen. I like Carroll's book a lot. I never looked at Wald but Carroll speaks highly of Wald in Carroll.

well learning physical intuition is not super simple so an introductory book might be good to read anyway. but if you want tougher mathematics then Hawking and Ellis is quite mathematical, and Misner Thorne and Wheeler was the “GR bible” for generations

I'm not mathematician but I have an intuition, that the gravity is more like a force that work in a 4th space dimension that is applied on every 3D objects.

And a Blackhole is just a 3D whirlpool on an invisible 4th dimension where we can find the black matter missing is our universe.
