I discussed the possiblity that the Chinese government/military could even opportunistically use a virus like this one, once it emerged, as a weapon to weak Western countries, while being prepapred for it themselves and controlling it within their own borders. Let's face it: the Chinese government doesn't have a good human rights record, and they have over 1 billion people, they could afford to lose a few hundred thousand themselves and not feel like they were hurt by it, in fact they might even feel like it was a side-benefit (fewer mouths to feed and all that).
Since they have total control of the media within their borders it would be easy to cover up an epidemic, allowing people to leave the country for the West, not knowing they were infected. Then it spreads like wildfire, as we've seen.
You have to admit it's been super-effective in sowing chaos and economic destruction all over the world. Meanwhile China is doing just fine, isn't it?
I've been shouted down for bringing this up previously. Wonder why?
