Yeah, it really isn't. Getting a math degree is more about personal preference than anything, I'd rather be happy and broke teaching postgrad courses than miserable and rich somewhere else. Of course, if you're happy working for some corporation, go ahead.

Why do brainlets care about the job prospects of a math bsc? If you're actually serious about math, the bsc is literally part 1 while the phd is part 2, because your goal is research.

I hate group work, labs, and writing essays so I did a math degree. Didn't want to get into medicine because I didn't pick biology in high school (too boring).

Im now a freelance tutor and make a comfy living. Not 6 figures or some other bullshit, but I'm financially stable and happy.

If you can leave your job at the end of the day and forget all about it while you tend to your real life, that is mediocre but good enough. And the extra money means you can retire from it that much sooner than the retard working until 65+

Math is the ultimate field to specialize in if you want to be multidisciplinary in STEM. Even employers understand this as they both fear and love the versatile math bull. I have a math degree. I'm a freelance consultant making 80k after taxes. I haven't had to set foot in a public school since age 18, or in a college classroom since undergrad. Work hard and provide a service people are willing to pay for, and you don't have to teach.
