What are the best books for electronics and circuit theory? I look for examples and problems too, not only theory, thanks.

On what in particular? Basics, like Ohm's law, and Thevenin? Or transistors usage? Or transistor design? Or power?
Sedra/Smith is what we used in one of first courses that was dedicated to circuitry and I'd say that textbook was pretty good, so maybe start with that.

I'm going through Practical Electronics for Inventors and it's all right, very clear and intuitive, very well explained but lacking in theory. I think it's great as a soft starter on the subject for those who need to build a knowledge from the ground up.

I don't know, many suggest The Art of Electronics by Horowitz-Hill, but I despised that book, it's badly written in my opinion, but maybe it makes a bit more sense if you already know what it's talking about.

In that case I'd go through sedra/smith after learning the basics, although the first few chapters can still give you a decent grasp of the theory.

Sedra/Smith is definitely one for if you want to know exactly what's going on inside the transistors/opamps.
If you just want to use a transistor to turn an LED on or something, it's kind of overkill.

If you want circuit theory (Kirchhoff, Thevenin/Norton, etc), then DeCarlo/Lin is a decent start with tons of exercises and it extends into Laplace stuff, but you maybe want to move sideways into transistors (i.e. non-linear) at some point.

Really depends what the goal is. If you want to just do some basic circuits, you're better off with some more practical "maker" oriented books, maybe with Art of Electronics as a reference.
If you want to place with discrete digital logic like CMOS logic, "The CMOS Cookbook" is handy, as is "Modern CMOS" (Marston), but a lot of that is all done in micros now.
If you really want to know the mathematics, the books like Sedra and Smith are more suitable, but they're really used as an adjunct to a taught course or a a reference after the fact, battling through it single-handedly from first principles would be pretty miserable.

I just found out this semester (senior year pt 1) that my university only offers the Electronics Theory class I'm interested in for physics during the fall semester, and I missed out on it. Now I have to fill my requirement with stinky Optics instead.

Will be picking up Sedra and Smith for self-study, thanks anons

youtube, unironically. All the old legit project blogs are 404'ing, so you just gotta go where it's at now. HAM's and poos and uni lectures on YT are surprisingly based tho, for electronics.
