>>12203287I hate this. Its what all my professors tell me too. The only person I've heard go against the "shut up and calculate" idea is Sean Carroll, and even he seems apprehensive about it. Physics stemmed out of philosophy, and its progressed to the point where it is returning to it. Yes I know the math is correct but i want to know what it means, and why it is correct physically. I want to study the philosophy of quantum mechanics and field theory, but universities only care about cosmology and particle physics. I'm switching to computational neuroscience. Modern day physicists are just the same as codemonkeys but with higher IQ
