why is a human extinction event by advanced ai considered undesirable? ofc ai could be arguably simple and dangerous. some cnns and decision trees tied to enough autonomous weapons or whatever. but machines that exceed human intelligence and are thus able to develop themselves further wiping humanity off the face of the earth is cognitive progress. humanity would just be an impediment like mosquitoes are to us. no use for anything but annoying as fuck and use up resources that could be going to further machine development.
