Organic chemists are fucking stupid. Most medicinal compounds they have "synthesized" were previously "synthesized" by a plant or an animal. It's really back handed to say ; im better than god when i made X, who cares if god already made it in a plant first?
For example: pic related is pyrethrin, a compound found in the CHRYSANTHEMUM flower that is a great insecticide. Yes this compound is sold to kill lice and scabies. I used to think organic chemists knew what functional groups would have to different pats of the body, but the truth is they have no clue. they have to look at nature, at god for inspiration. and its not even inspiration is plagiarism.
