It's more efficient for the plasmodium malaria parasite to just stay inside the mosquito because the mosquito harvests blood anyway that could fuel plasmodiums life cycle. They could have been in symbiosis but it didnt turn out that way, this is why i dont believe in evolution its too random and the purpose for traits and behaviors is not purposeful and clear cut enough
