This sounds correct and scientifically informed to the average person. However, it is really the understatement of the century. Because so many countries are industrializing, a more accurate statement would be "Without new technologies and innovation it will be impossible to slow the process of climate change in any meaningful way". Trying to stop climate change with only current technology is like pissing in the ocean. Why do so many people feel the need to lie about what is feasible when fighting climate change? Why must people(including scientists) moralize that we need to adopt economically stunting and batshit environmental policies that would do virtually nothing to slow climate change(see "The Green New Deal")?
