We don't touch things as much as we experience things.
Atoms aren't ever in contact and much of it is empty space.
Tkdr, the universe is just a bunch of energy events that will cancel out at the end of time. So it nets off to zero.

Everything thing comes from nothing.. but once nothing becomes something doesn't mean it will return to nothing. So it is for ever something that cannot become nothing.

Well, there's some heavy calculations between those definitions and reality, but you get the point. Looking at it this way makes nothingness the exception, which fits into my view of the world.
