They are almost the exact same thing. They make nearly the same money. MD's and DO's compete/apply for the same positions here. There are a few states where DO's can't oversee PA's. But that's about it.
Maybe I can only speak for urologists, but here DO's can perform the same complex surgical procedures that MD's can do.
