No conversation can be had on that level. This is what I have come to accept. Most people just are not that control oriented in their thinking. For all we know "they", or "it", sees itself as benevelolent and righteous, the great culmination of millenia of human failure, suffering, and misery. The war to end all wars, ultimate peace through absolute power and full spectrum dominance. A God and his clockwork paradise. Meaning and justice for all! Removing that great flaw in our core design! Utopia at last! We made it, we must! And so on. People don't get it, so they fixate on muh conspiracy, and does evil exist, and why would they do this to themselves, and so on.
All that monologue aside, that's where I'm coming from. And yeah, I'm with you on the incompetence, grandiose delusions, following the money, all the maneuvering and PR spectacle on that level, insider trading, the road to hell is paved with good intentions, etc. The modern world has reached a point of such organizational inefficiencies, such scale, and such perversion, that you can't trust anything like this. However I cannot yet see indication that there is any chance of stopping it. Apparently, like all the other times, it will have to start happening before it can stop happening.
