How exactly does Electron capture works?
I mean, I get it, electron turns into a neutron to balance out the overwhelming amount of protons. The process released gamma ray

But my question is how does that work?
A neutron is 1839x the mass of an electron. Not to mention that electrons are leptons and neutrons are baryons.

How can the electron make up for those loses and still have enough spare energy to release gamma radiation.
Where did it all came from?
