Is abstract algebra necessary for someone who wants a good understanding of linear algebra and analysis for engineering? EE here, I want a good understanding of real and complex analysis as well as linear algebra for applied electromagnetism and electrical engineering. Is it a good idea to learn some abstract algebra for this? Also looking for advice from other EEs proficient in pure math. Thanks.
