im considering using pure calcium metal powder as the metal fuel, one thing im a bit stumped with is getting the turbine going, i dont want to use a starter fuel (the coal dust used diesel to get it going then switched to coal dust) im thinking maybe a premixing stage with water which should produce calcium hydroxide and hydrogen and use the hydrogen to start it then swap over to just burning straight calcium. im also planning on having the exhaust product be collected and stored and water added to it which will convert the calcium oxide and calcium nitride into just calcium hydroxide and liberating some ammonia which will be refed into the turbine to scavenge some miles. what are your thoughts /sci/ any questions?
