Discussing consciousness or asking questions about what happens to our consciousness when we die is irrelevant and pointless. Our collective IQ's potential is capped to the point where we cant understand consciousness until we become more intelligent. We are still too dumb as organisms to make a comprehensive and consistent answer. Even if we had such an answer, we are not intelligent enough to know what to do with that answer or what further questions we need to answer or think about. Therefore, such questions should be offloaded to more intelligent entities, ie, superintelligent AI and cognitively enhanced humanoids of the future. The most logical thing you could do right now is try to reverse biological aging so you live a bit longer until you can sufficiently enhance your intelligence to be able to answer the question and make a better decision based off that future knowledge. It is likely that your decision will still be to wait until you become more intelligent. It is ridiculous to have an opinion about what time you want to go to the toilet next sunday, because you will have more information near the time. Therefore, our only goal as a species should be to increase lifespan and IQ.
