Hi everyone chemistry seems to me like a brainlet science of rote memorization. Am I wrong? Please teach me the fundamentals. Is there a list of common patterns I can memorize and be okay? I sorta get the periodic table (how not why). Maybe just memorize how the groups interact with each other generally? Ok you tell me please

Find a first year engineering chemistry textbook. You can probably get a cheap used one from campus. Then work through it.

Chemists are retard. They are the monkey in the infinite monkey paradox. They try stupid combinations of shit and do lame lab work and sometimes 1 out of 10000 chemist makes a notable discovery in their life. Its memorization but nothing else. Learn different kind of synthesis and that is it. It is a nice hobby to synthesize drugs though.

Depends on the level. It helps if you know periodic trends and valencies for general chemistry, but that's about all you can cheat out. Everything else can be figured out without memorization, and some things will straight up cuck you if you try to memorize them (see: ochem).
Chemistry isn't all that bad, but I've seen a lot of people struggle with it for various reasons. Just do some reading, and you'll be good.

This is a really broad question. Like someone asking to learn physics and what broad patterns to memorize like harmonics.

Start with physical chemistry. Then after you are comfortable with statistical thermodynamics and quantum mechanical descriptions move into organic and inorganic chemistry. These will both rely more heavily on pattern recognition although inorganic will need some group theory to be really useful. Both need pretty good visualization skills. Then you can do stuff like computational and biochemistry, although those require non-chemistry components.

Reccomend taking at least linear algebra and ODE before tackling most of physical chemistry if you want to do it right. If you decide to study spectroscopy more you might want to lean into more complex analysis. NMR can be rough for people who try to learn ochem without knowing a lot of physical chem
