worked at brookhaven, fermilab, and oak ridge
oak ridge was the nicest one, brookhaven was old as shit and not nearly as close to NYC as I was expecting, and fermilab had bison so that was a plus.

In the mid 80s I attended one of those Fermilab severe weather seminars Tom Skilling featured in, with big-screen helicopter footage of that Minnesota twister making its leisurely way through conifers and high voltage lines. Bison were not yet installed, though the view along the Naperville tech corridor on the way there was also peak kino for the time.
