Where did you even get that impression?
He avoids any technical discussion on the any hard science subjects, and he has no scientific credentials except for a lab technician job at Los Alamos.

He mounted a jet engine from a scrap air force fighter, so at most he plumbed together the fuel system and the mounts. None of that requires any special MIT engineering prowess.

He's a tinkerer, I can give him that, but he does not speak the language that physics Ph.Ds do.
