The guy makes critiques of the concepts he covers based on real-world foundations instead of literary analysis. It's nice to have a scientific foundation to assess the feasibility of technological advancements, which Isaac does demonstrate that he has, but in the real world, it takes a LOT more expertise than knowing the physics of an interaction to get any kind of new technology off the ground.

If you'd watch his videos, you'd see that Isaac actually verses himself beyond physics, into geopolitics, economics, manufacturing processes, business, and history in order to carry his points to their conclusions. Real-world advancement really is a coordination of several different factors in a lot of different fields, not just an academic thinking that X can be done so X must be done. That's how things work outside of academia; it's completely messy and beyond the current realm of numbers and base physical principles. It would be appealing if that was the case, I agree, but it really really just isn't.

Always used to listen to Feynman and Susskind lectures over dinner and low-engagement games. I could be wrong, but I'd think that lecture courses are standard-fare listening for a lot of the people here.
