I said that the reason scientific and technological advancement will eventually hault is because the open problems will become too difficult
This will happen regardless of whether or not western countries import refugees or give billions in foreign aid etc. It's a completely different issue that have no affects on each other.
We will eventually stop advancing NOT because we help poor people in other countries but because it's simply not possible to figure out the problems anymore regardless of how hard we work or how many resources we throw at the problem.
