Biology is the patrician science; but poorly represented at /sci/ unfortunately.
I can find no one, neither in rl or the internet, who cares that spironemids appear to be the sister group to Diaphoretickes. This upsets me greatly.

I like biochemistry, it's basically alchemy, but I also enjoy bioengineering, there's various little bits that are all interesting, maybe you can help me learn what I like? I like the idea of altering nature, people, etc. Like making a butterfly turn a particular color other than what nature intended, I think that's called genetics? Idk I'm new, but it's still all very cool

You sound like you're into Genetic Engineering/Modification OP which is awesome. Essentially it's manipulating an organism's genes to exert an influence over its phenotype (physical characteristics). It incorporates bioengineering and lots of biotech. If you're still in school I'd definitely recommend talking to one of your Professors about it to get more info. It's pretty much the cutting edge of bio, really exciting.

A CS guy told me he was doing exactly a scientist job as he was too seeking for solution to problems.

What are your thoughts on this?

I study Molecular biology applied to microbiology. I don't think CS is a lesser disciplin yet almost all of them are quite pedant and full of themselves given the job market for them and the salary that goes with it.
