How does one find the constants of motion when energy is not conserved? Specifically, when the change in energy is dependent on the state. Pic related.

Hoe bad of an idea would it be to study physics in university as a brainlet? I am motivated to learn everything that I am curious about but I am scared that I will have to switch to another discipline after a couple of semesters because I judt can't do it.

You will need to be more specific. If you are talking about general problems for which dissipation is a factor, then we cannot say that there will be any conserved quantities at all. It is frequently the case that these systems are not integrable.
If you have a specific case in mind then you may be able to discuss it in some more detail.

There's a crystal which creates energy in magnetic field without motion, requiring less energy in magnetic field than energy it creates.

Basically coil, some quantum state shifting and you have energy.
