>>12147494this has nothing to do with the "scientism" meme.
if the right wants to redefine terms in the middle of a conversation, then fine. we're used to that. but classically, the word "scientism" refers to people who basically thought that science provided a nice general framework for understanding that religious people thought WAS BAD. SCIENCE BAD. EVOLUTION BAD. BIG BANG BAD.
that is what scientism refers to, basically the early 20th century characters that existed as foils to the pro-god and pro-religion "philosophers" and "humanists" and so forth. the "scientism" in that that era was people who opposed them using "science" which they disliked.
so in a nutshell, the lesson to take away is that modern people who reeee about "scientism" are basically so incredibly out of touch that they need to channel the 1800's people who challenged science on the basis of ethics or religion or whatever humanities shit there was at that time.
the brutal truth is that all the humanities shit and /lit/ shit and /pol/ shit and /his/ shit got debunked because science won. we nuked japan and shit. through science. we basically control the ultimate power. so just fuck off idiots
