Lets say there is a dot on the screen that appears for half a second and then dissapears. Everyone would see it. But what if it blinked for only 1/100th of a second, maybe then there would be some people that dont even notice a point was on the screen at all.
It most certainly is diferent for every person just as reaction times are, but that´s the line of thinking I would go with to know.
It sounds like someone has had to have done a similar experiment already, maybe not with a screen, but to the same effect.
