Does the person have to permanently abstain from alcohol or else each time they drink they only make it worse?
Also how long does it take to reach each stage? Can someone drinking heavily for a few years get to perma scarring?
Is it alcoholic fatty liver disease?
Alcoholic hepatitis?
Alcoholic fibrosis?
Alcoholic cirrhosis?
From what I can tell AFLD is 100% curable by just avoiding alcohol for like a month and then you can go back to alcohol but like a normal person and not an alcoholic.
Hepatitis is simply the liver swelling, which is the next stage but no scarring yet.
Fibrosis and cirrhosis are apparently two stages of the same thing (like HIV/AIDS) whereby your liver has basically become perma scarred, reducing its strength. Imagine a health percentage going down from 100%, it seems once you get to fibrosis/cirrhosis your liver is perma dropped to X % and thats its perma strength cap.
Thoughts? Any doctors here?
>t. college student whos starting drinking in 2017 and it became alcoholism starting mid last year
>t. also my last handful of benders I'd have very mild right side soreness for a few hours after the end of the bender and then it went away
>no other symptoms
