Little known fact, but sauropods started out as tiny 2 legged meat eaters. Another theory is their digestion was basically a fermentation process that produced a lot of heat, so they kept evolving larger and larger for more surface area. The largest of them (like in your pic related) weren't around until the cretaceous period anyway.
