Why has technological progress stagnated for the last 50 years. No major tech breakthroughs have happened for a long time, what is the reason?

It's fair to say that microprocessing has continued to jump and boosted deep learning to relevant levels.
Fuel efficiency has been maxxed out for a long time and fusion is 50 years away of course.
Genetics is much better understood today than it was before. We're not Übermenschen because people are lazy.
Math started to untie itself from reality at the lastest during the war with Frenchies.
Physics hasn't had a jump since Dirac's QED in the 30's, but the reason is probably simply that physics it hard.

Facebook, google and others have been using ML for years before cloud computing was widely available for everyone, so in that sense nothing has really changed substantially. Tesla is probably at the absolute cutting edge of that technology and yet their cars are still basically unreliable.

Replacing/mixing people's faces doesn't have an effect on the economy.

In reality, the last major invention was the firearm and all its derivatives, which allowed simple men to, with only two weeks of training or so, be able to compete with professional knights who were trained in swordsmanship etc. The invention of the firearm allowed democracy to exist. The second major invention was the theory of the cell and medicine.
Everything else since then is basically trash and you're a coping engicuck if you disagree

Technological Advancement advanced it self enough to become invisible. Soon paint that does decomposes CO2 into oxygen and adds a graphene layer will be availabe, I don't know what more you want.

I think its because of the low hung theory. Basically all the easy advances or technology have already been discovered. It now takes more and more resources to invent new products and technologies. So even though more technology makes it easier to get more technology. It also costs a lot more which sort of negates the advances.
