>>12143838I got abused physically and emotionally by some of the people closest to me since I was a young child, including, but not limited to: getting my head kicked into the floor by my older by 10 years sister around ages 6-12; getting into fights with my older sister which included steak knives, pens, pencils, etc; being told that I was a pussy and to kill myself when I was 10 while holding a knife to my throat by my mother; my father was in jail from 3-7 years old and died of cancer when coming out, he was a good guy though; my mother got cancer and survived; my mother would call me schizophrenic, crazy, psychopathic, ugly, weird (telling me it's why I couldn't get a girlfriend, because they thought I was ugly or weird or crazy), and would say I was going to go to jail for hurting someone eventually.
I'm sorry for the blogpost but I'm just giving you some examples of things that might cause PTSD in someone who's never been to war. I live in America but was born poor and live in the second largest opiate location in the US, I believe. I've known people who have been in much worse situations than me also. It primarily manifested in myself as DP/DR and pure OCD.
