If you had a small (~1cm cube) block of neutrons like what's in neutron stars in your lab on Earth how does it behave and how do you handle it?
How/can it be stabilized, shaped, moved, how does it interact with normal matter?

If you had a 1cm3 of of neutronium, it would immediately break through whatever is underneath it, then the Earth's crust, and eventually fuse with the core. That is if you somehow manage to make it stable, of course, because it would just explode otherwise. Basically, by the time we will be able to handle neutronium, we will be able to make it ourselves.

Okay, stop it coring the planet by putting it in orbit with the ISS.
What's it explode for, how to stop it? Gravity and gluons hold it together, it doesn't do electromagnetics. Cool it to 0K for thermal.

There are some problems with putting it on orbit, but I'll let it slide for now. Neutron star a held together by immense gravity, enough to overcome electron degeneracy pressure, but enough to overcome neutron degeneracy pressure, which is why they don't collapse into a black holes. If you remove the gravity, NDG will cause neurons is neutronium to repel each other, creating an unimaginably powerful burns of x-ray radiation and fast neutrons.

Fusion knowledge may help to compress it. Because people try to achieve fusion with lasers, but there was a problem with doing it evenly. Kinda like squeezing a balloon without cause it to move somewhere, but trying to make it smaller. You need to compress it into a sphere because that shape is less energy expensiv.
