Was the ideological weaponization of science good or bad for scientific progress? On one hand you have dumbasses throwing around stuff like pic related, on the other hand you have people claiming they NEED to self-mutilate and take hormones because science said so. It seems to have undermined the public's trust in actual scientific research. What does /sci/ think?
