I'm in my final year undergrad at an International Relations school (because I was a naive brainlet who wanted to change the world) and would like to get some help getting the fuck out and back into something quantitative. I code decently and did pretty well in high school (USAMO qualilfier) so I thought quant finance might be a good way out. I've started reading Hull's Options and some Springer finance stuff, while the intro chapters make sense I can never get past the first few chapters. Hell I can't even understand the math behind Monte Carlo methods after filling my brain up with intergovernmentalism theory and shit. Is this part of statistics or differential equations? What math courses/books do I need to take before reading this stuff?
