/sci/ tattoos?

I consider tattooing to be a great way to permanently encode information into oneself. But what equations/concepts are important enough to warrant tattoos while also not being so simple as to be pointless?

I wasn't referring to specifically a math tattoo. But I use tattoos to encode my mental states better through reinforcement loops. I was thinking of getting something related to my research molecular relaxation in complex environments. Like some version of the flory huggins equations or a diagram describing the properties of molecules that interest me like water.

Most interesting math tattoos are short and sweet definitions or diagrams of subjects that are fairly unknown to laymen.

Some examples would be
>the monster group
>principle of least action
>lorenz attractor equations
>Let (epsilon) > 0
>Something about graph theory
>The solutions for Einstein's field equations that give a black hole
>Mandelbrot set
>Bifurcation diagram of the logistic equation

The point of tattoos is
1. To honor a warrior who did outstanding things
2. To be accepted as a member of Yakuza or whatever
3. To outright decorate your body in a way that raises your self-esteem.

By writting complex math, all you are doing is write something that is of no different from tattooing the Chinese word for soup.

All math tattoos, including the ones you mentioned, are ultra cringe. If someone approaches you and asks what your tattoo is, you'll either sound like a complete self-centred asshole, a boring nerd who's trying to be edgy, or both (in most cases).
If you really can't live without le science on your skin, at least make it something graphical like a fucking mobius strip or a platonic solid, so you can pretend that you just like the aesthetic of it and you're not actually trying to show how smart you are

You have a very narrow definition of what something is for. I have poor recall on detailed things. So having something literally on my flesh helps me keep track of things I find important. I try to think about this stuff as I do other things but i lose track of what I'm doing without some form of touchstone that has the fine details. Im glad you have perfect memory, I rely on tricks to supplement my cognition.

It works well for me. I encode advice to myself on my body in case I forget something. I frequently do and it's increased my quality of life in other areas. Why not this one? I'm trying to figure out what balence of importance, information density, and relative ease of encoding is right.
