The brain sends signals to the body to move. However there are legless lizards who can, by choice break off their tails. The tails then continue to wiggle for a good while. All the while they lay still with their bodies and head intact hoping whatever preditor is after them goes for the still wiggling tail.

This seems weird as hell to me.
