Today I was thinking about how Elon Musk's SpaceX changed the history of space missions, when suddenly I was struck with a brilliant idea that can lower the costs even more. I thought to myself: chickens. Seriously guys, just think about it. Chickens are birds. And birds have wings. Wings give birds the ability to fly. I know that chickens aren't that good at flight by if you take a thousand of them, the net effect will be sufficient to sustain their flight. It works with cranes, it will work with chickens. So the idea is to connect one thousand chickens to a rocket and scare them. They will instinctively try to fly. The net effect of their wings flapping will sustain their flight and let them fly higher and higher. I calculated that the force (lift) created by exactly one thousand chickens will be more than enough to lift the rocket at an altitude of 25200 m. At that hight the rocked will launch its engines and reach escape velocity with ease. It will be possible to use about 87% less fuel in such mission. Also chickens are cheap as hell and easy to breed so there will be no shortage in supplies.
I know it sounds crazy, but just think about it, /sci/. It all adds up. The math is spot on.
