In the sociology, cultural anthropology, and "theory" they like to split hair over these difference, but in social choice theory, voting theory, game theory, and mathematical social science, these distinctions are not generally upheld. Unlike you, I trust scientists more than humanities scholars, so I will stick with their definitions. I refer you to the work of Wulf Gaertner, Thomas Schelling, and Amartya Sen for more on that topic.
