Studies are not necessarily perfectly accurate. No scientific work is. But a good study will always address its potential room for error. A study is generally much more likely to be accurate if it has been endorsed / cited by significant people who are in the field, because they know what they're doing. It's also important for certain studies to look at sampling techniques and other statistical choices they make. The experiment/data itself isn't everything.
What aren't important are media reporting on studies, stuff that random celebrities and politicians claim about studies without having read them, etc.
