Why does US archaeology suck so bad? We have tons of sites that have barely been studied at all. Looting is more common than excavating. The closest thing to a proper survey that most sites get is a fucking tourism plaque and a parking lot.

What gives? Are US archaeologists just trash? Is it politically motivated?
