>>12126161>That said, evolutionary theory has a ton of holes in it because large parts of the theory are not falsifiable and are based on models. This isn't an issue with the core theory of evolution of species by natural selection. The theory has so much evidence and mechanical explainability that alternatives hold no weight.
Specific evolutionary theories may be based on models or are difficult to prove, but the fundamental idea of natural selection is as solid as you can get, pretty much. Beyond the theory, empirical observations, and mechanism of action (heritability, differential success, and variation, and the behavior of RNA/DNA), it also makes complete logical sense, and appears to likely be a very general principle, applying to many aspects of physics and possibly even metaphysics (e.g. our universe and its physical variables possibly being naturally selected).
If someone still wants this to be consistent with theism, it's easy to just say an intelligent being created the first lifeform(s) and they evolved naturally from there, or that the being did the initial selecting, or whatever else. To claim that all of life doesn't belong to a shared ancestry is just pants on head retarded.
