Why isn't Nuclear Energy pushed more? seems pointless to have renewable energy advocates push for solar/wind when you also need huge batteries for night time

These are a good read. Basically they are hugely expensive single projects that take decades to complete, so it's very hard to secure government support for such a significant undertaking. Take into consideration the massive decommissioning costs down the line, as well as the strong fossil fuel lobbies worldwide...
