>>12124151>>"It's the only game in town. Shut up."No, it's "suggest a research program based on a paper trail of results, or else admit you're just salty."
>This is why experimental physicists keep saying that you guys are cultists.Ah, I was right with my assumption that you're in experiment with a salty PI
>IF IT DOESN'T AGREE WITH EXPERIMENT, IT'S WRONG. There is no experiment to agree or disagree with. Hep-th people are waiting with bated breath as experimentalists find methods for GeV. Nobody here is "ignoring experiment."
>incapable of producing any falsifiable experimentsthere are multiple experiments that are falsifiable, but they they're infeasible at the moment due to lack of advances in our instruments.
>experimental evidenceisn't that your job? Isn't it your job to figure out how to conduct these experiments that have already been proposed.
>>12124163>>12124168Dude - I get you're from experiment, but you have to realize that exp and th are not pitted against each other. Experiment is necessarily slower in hep because nobody has the money to make another LHC on the fly. But why are you blaming theorists for going off what they already know? Every single accusation comes off as naive and ill informed - I am wholly convinced you're either a larping shitter who reads popsci, or you're an assistant in an experimental lab where you PI vented to you about some paper he didn't understand.
Either suggest another research direction or nothing at all. Nobody will go back to the drawing board until you actually provide an alternative yourself.
