Being /in/ something implies outside of it is something else.
For all we know there could be, but the thing is, is that we define space as... space.
The fabric of space is what we're in, which means past that there's nothing.
I personally think our universe are a few spare waves from an even bigger universe or /something/ that we're maybe "in"
