Silicon. But it's probably a meme.

If you expand your definition of life, though, you might find some bizarre alternatives. That is if you assume some level of order can arise out of any chaotic system run for a long enough period. My favorite is wind based for gas planets in which storm cells are capable of some level of thermoregulation via chemical systems. But it would still require that the storm cells have memetic properties, and it's genuinely so alien that the concept of a "living storm" would be difficult recognize even if it were possible.
