11000 years ago there was an ice sheet on the top of the entire alpes, all of the himalayas and tibet, all of scandinavia and parts of Russia, all of canada and northern US and over the andes and probably one in South Africa as well.
Off course it will accelerate a bit, but not at an apocalyptic rate.
We're also overdue for a large volcanic eruption which should halt global warming for 5 years or so.
