Put one probe somewhere on the circuit that's connected to the part you want to measure.
Use the other one to find anything that doesn't look isolated.
If you measure something that's not really large that's a spot you can solder your wire onto.
If not you could just use a knife and scrape away a bit of the isolation.
Just don't do that on anything potentially dangerous.
