Nice find, the maths aren't that hard though. Follows pretty directly from the generalized binomial theorem:
$(1+x)^y=\sum_{n\ge 0}\binom{y}{n}x^n$

It's good idea, now find function that is on a subset of generated numbers and results in continuous set of primes.
